The KK series converts ball screw rotary motion into linear motion through a combined system of motor, coupling, and ball screw. It uses a high-precision ball screw as the transmission mechanism and a U-shaped rail design for guidance, enabling stable and accurate linear motion.

1. High Load Capacity and Rigidity
The KK Semi-enclosed Series features a steel carriage and integrated steel base. Compared with conventional aluminum-based linear modules, steel has an elastic modulus approximately three times higher, providing significantly greater overall structural rigidity. This rigidity also contributes to long-term repeatability. Even under repeated loading from high-frequency acceleration and deceleration cycles, creep at the steel guide mounting surface remains minimal. The series is particularly suited to applications requiring high dynamic rigidity, such as machine tool loading and unloading and heavy workpiece handling.
2. Easy Visual Inspection and Maintenance
The semi-enclosed design provides a practical balance between protection and accessibility, retaining open areas on the sides and top rather than using a fully enclosed sheet-metal cover. This offers two key maintenance benefits.First, visual inspection can be performed without removing the housing, allowing maintenance personnel to directly check the guideway raceways, screw thread surfaces, and lubricant condition. Early signs of wear or contamination, such as scratches, corrosion, foreign-matter adhesion, or lubricant discoloration, can therefore be identified promptly. Second, regular visual inspections support early fault detection. The condition of the screw can be assessed without disassembly, making it easier to schedule preventive maintenance or replacement of components before unexpected downtime occurs.
3. Excellent Heat Dissipation
The open upper structure facilitates rapid dissipation of heat generated by the screw during high-speed operation, helping minimize accuracy drift caused by thermal expansion.
4. Balanced Cost-Effectiveness
In many industrial applications, maximum dust protection is not always the primary requirement, particularly in clean or low-dust environments without significant dust or machining chips. The KK Semi-enclosed Series is designed for these applications, combining a steel-based module with cost competitiveness closer to that of aluminum-based linear modules.
K series products have 4 types of protective covers, and KNR is a semi-enclosed model. Its external form reveals the underlying mechanical configuration of this single-axis robot, where the ball screw and slide block work together as a compact, clearly arranged drive assembly. The base is processed using advanced vertical high-frequency induction hardening equipment, followed by low-temperature aging and tempering. This treatment relieves residual internal stresses in the material, helping prevent deformation after machining as well as secondary distortion during prolonged storage. The ball nut adopts an end-cap recirculation system. The extended return path of the balls contributes to lower operating noise. Compared with tube-type recirculation, which is generally recommended for maximum speeds of 2000 rpm, the end-cap design can reach speeds of up to 3000 rpm. The space-saving configuration reduces both equipment footprint and overall cost. Various motor flanges and related accessories can be selected to suit different installation and application requirements.
