Product Principle

The synchronous AC current passes through the three coils in the forcer, reversing the current direction to generate a changing magnetic field. This magnetic field interacts with the stator to produce attractive and repulsive forces, creating continuous thrust that keeps the mover in motion.

Product Advantages

1. High Thrust Output with High Efficiency

The forcer is built with laminated silicon steel featuring a high saturation flux density, forming a closed magnetic circuit that efficiently concentrates the magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnets into the air gap. This increases thrust density by approximately 35 times compared with ironless designs. Within the same overall volume, continuous thrust can readily exceed several thousand newtons.

2. Effective Thermal Management

The flat, plate-type forcer and stator provide a large heat-dissipation surface, offering approximately 23 times the natural convection area of cylindrical or U-shaped motors. Heat generated by the windings is rapidly transferred through the epoxy encapsulation to the entire metal substrate, enabling efficient passive cooling.

3. Strong Interchangeability

The PQ Series is optimized around industry-standard dimensions, allowing direct replacement of mainstream iron-core linear motors with comparable specifications and simplifying system upgrades.

4. Rapid Acceleration Response

Although the forcer has a certain amount of moving mass, its high structural rigidity supports acceleration rates exceeding 5g. This makes it well matched to the rapid placement cycles of SMT heads, high-speed pick-and-place operations in chip sorting equipment, and the frequent start-stop motion required in lithium battery winding machines. The result is a combination of high acceleration and precise settling with minimal residual oscillation after positioning.

The stator and forcer are the basic components of a linear motor. The stator is typically composed of permanent magnets that generate a magnetic field, while the forcer contains electromagnetic coils and moves linearly along the stator. When current flows through the mover coils, an electromagnetic field is generated, interacting with the stator’s magnetic field to produce force, driving the mover in linear motion. The TPA-PQ Series linear motors feature an iron-core mover paired with a flat-plate stator, combining high thrust and mechanical rigidity with a compact design and convenient installation. The series offers excellent compatibility and interchangeability, allowing it to directly replace comparable iron-core linear motor systems while reducing equipment retrofit and maintenance costs.
