Rotary Motor with Fixed Mount

Product Principle

A rotary motor consists of a rotor and stator. The rotor is the load itself or directly connected to the load, and is equipped with permanent magnets. The stator is fixed to the base and contains multiple coils. Based on the electromagnetic principle, energizing the coils generates a rotating magnetic field, which directly drives the permanent magnet rotor to rotate. The rotor speed is determined by the frequency of the applied current, while its position is controlled by the phase of the current.

Product Advantages

 1. Ultra-high Torque Output 

A large-diameter, short-shaft-length configuration combined with a multi-pole electromagnetic topology delivers continuous torque ranging from several hundred to more than 1000 N·m, with even higher peak torque available. This makes the motor well suited to low-speed, high-torque applications involving heavy loads.

2. Zero-backlash and High Precision 

The direct-drive configuration eliminates intermediate mechanical transmission components, removing backlash and mechanical compliance at the source. With excellent positioning accuracy and repeatability, the motor is well suited to demanding heavy-load indexing and positioning applications where high precision is essential. 

3. High Rigidity and Fast Dynamic Response

The large-diameter rotor provides high torsional rigidity and strong resistance to load fluctuations. Combined with rapid dynamic response and high system bandwidth, the motor supports fast starts, stops, and frequent acceleration and deceleration under heavy-load conditions.

4. Long Service Life with Minimal Maintenance

With no gearbox, belt, coupling, or other wear-prone transmission components, the direct-drive structure eliminates the need for routine lubrication and reduces maintenance requirements. Smooth, reliable operation helps maintain long-term motion performance while significantly reducing equipment maintenance costs over its service life.

With an outer diameter exceeding 300 mm, this series is designed as a large-format, high-torque direct-drive motor platform for demanding rotary applications. The direct-drive configuration connects the rotor directly to the load, eliminating intermediate mechanical transmission components and thereby removing backlash, mechanical compliance, and transmission losses. This results in significantly improved system rigidity and dynamic response. A large-diameter, short-shaft-length configuration combined with a multi-pole electromagnetic topology delivers exceptionally high torque density. The motor can be equipped with a high-resolution absolute encoder or resolver for feedback, providing excellent positioning accuracy and repeatability with smooth, reliable operation. With a maintenance-free design, long service life, and high reliability, the series is widely used for direct-drive applications involving large inertia and high torque loads, including heavy-duty CNC rotary tables, large trunnion machining centers, wind turbine pitch systems, defense equipment, and telescope drives.
